We started The Advisory Gym out of a desire to our years of experience to help you in two areas:

One of our key offerings is providing you with a number of turn-key-style website designs. Pick one, insert your copy, choose your colors and we do all the rest. So if you need a website or if your current website is outdated, we will help you.
2. Get the right advice to grow your business, get more clients and make more money.
   Call us business coaches, advisors, guides – whatever you want. Just don’t call us business consultants. We don’t consult with you about how to grow your business, we coach and advise you on how to grow your business and make more money. And we don’t play around with fluff. Both of us have a track record of helping businesses make more money. So all our programs, products and offerings are available for one thing – helping you grow your business.

Whether we’re building your website, helping you make more money, or both – there are three things that we live by:

I’m the owner and core author on the popular small business advice blog dmiracle.com. For more than a decade I’ve been a website developer, business consultant and marketing coach for scores of small businesses.

I got into website design by accident when a friend asked me to build him a website. One website led to two then to twenty and soon I was running a business. My background in customer service, retail management and as a wholesale buyer served me well in structuring a thriving website building business. But I soon realized that if I didn’t learn how to position myself in a specific niche, I would never make it as a web designer long-term.

So I didn’t bother. Rather, I followed a life-long dream of studying alternative medicine and opened a practice. Took me less than three years and I was burned out working with people on the mental, emotional and spiritual components of their diseases. So I jumped back into web design.

But this time, I knew I had to learn how to clearly and effectively market my business. So I took some courses from various marketing gurus, read some books and bought some products – all of which were helpful resources. But what I found lacking was how to actually implement the information I was learning. So I gave myself one year to test, try and fail my way to success. And after 18 months, a lot of work and a number of valuable lessons, I was making more money than I ever had.

But my web design clients weren’t. They were learning from some of the same programs and reading the same materials I had. But most were unable to translate that information into real-life business results. Often, they got stuck on things like how to clearly define their niche or the most effective way for them to generate leads (sound familiar?). So soon, I found myself answering the questions that their marketing guru didn’t.

Very quickly I began offering my clients advice on how they should position, price and market their business for a specific target market – especially using their websites. From there my web design business became a complete small business advisory service. My clients would call me for a website and leave me with a working, often thriving, business.

So when Jim and I began talking about The Advisory Gym it was a no-brainer decision. Here I’m partnering with a talented, highly successful business advisor on a platform that can help so many more small business professionals than I could myself. And since Jim and I share the same business philosphies, family values and sense of humor, we decided it was a great match.

So here we are, helping every small business owner we can get the answers to the questions that are keeping them from being successful. And we’re doing so in a way that’s both equitable for our members and fair to our families.

Welcome to The Advisory Gym.

I’m the president and founder of the business advisory firm Greene Countrie Institute.  For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of small to mid-size businesses; help them find solutions to their business problems.

After 25 years of business experience, there’s one thing I’ve learned – you simply can’t build a highly successful business by yourself. You need help. It might be a coach or an accountant, it might be a virtual assistant or hiring employees or it could be a consultant or business advisor who can help you overcome the difficulties you face in your business. Whichever it is, don’t make the mistake of thinking you can go at it by yourself.

Over the past twelve years, I’ve had the privilege of evaluating, advised and working closely with more than 200 individual firms to at least doubling their revenue – and in some cases increasing revenue many times over. For instance, during one six-year period I helped one firm grow from $6 million to $300 million in annual revenue. Another firm I helped grow from $2 million to over $70 million in less than five years.

But who cares what I’ve done for others! The Advisory Gym is about what I can do for you. And that’s why Dawud and I began The Advisory Gym – to help you.

I’ve worked with everything from strict corporate structures to family-run businesses to unstructured small businesses (well, they don’t stay unstructured for long) and I’ve seen, from the inside how successful and unsuccessful businesses are run. I’ve seen what works and doesn’t across dozens of industries – from mortgages to education, restaurants to transportation, as well as a multitude of service industries.

What I’ve seen most is that many business owners are great at doing what they do. Where they often make their mistakes is in how they run their business – marketing, positioning, pricing, structures, etc. But those mistakes aren’t necessarily the business owner’s fault. After all, you can’t be held accountable for something you simply don’t know how to do.

When I’m hired as an advisor I come in, evaluate their business for what’s working and what’s not and then teach them the skills and processes necessary to run their business better and grow. This could mean anything from how to structure and streamline their business processes to more effective lead generation and conversion to helping them find out and develop a rapid growth program. In a nutshell we have found that the simplest solutions usually are the best.

What I can do for you is help you identify the problems in your business that are hindering your growth – and show you how to solve them. By show you how I mean help you understand how to implement the solutions to your business problems. And it’s in the implementation that all the growth and all the long-term success happens.
